Under direction of the Senior Director of Development (SDD) School of Medicine, the position designs, develops, implements, and administers fundraising programs. Identifies new donor prospects through researching background information on potential donors and directs development of materials and marketing plans. Directs the organizing of related fundraising program/events; cultivates, solicits, and stewards major gift donor prospects.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:--Expert knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor and public relations and a proven track record in major gifts fundraising. --Acquired knowledge of all aspects of the Health System, including current issues of concern for both the health system and throughout higher education and academic medicine generally. --Acquired knowledge of the Health System's vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure. --Expert knowledge of all applicable laws, rules, regulations, institutional policies, etc. --Expert written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including advanced political acumen, to establish and maintain good working relationships at all organizational levels and with outside constituencies, including donors and volunteers. --Expert skill in making persuasive and compelling presentations of health system goals/objectives and in securing gifts. --Expert analytical, critical thinking, problem recognition, avoidance, resolution skills. --Expert project/program management skills, including skill in setting and meeting program/project goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.--A proven track record and experience in major gifts fundraising.--Demonstrated ability to develop and manage volunteer and advisory boards.--Skills to meet or exceed fundraising goals and objectives.--Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, health and safety, and the commitment to diversity.--Knowledge of negotiation and conflict resolution, mentoring, and staff development.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:--Bachelor's degree preferred with at least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising for a large academic teaching medical center and/or experience in the field of health sciences and/or higher education.
