Under the direction of the Chief of the Division of Genomic Medicine, the Genetic Counselor 2 or Genetic Counselor 3 will provide primary and/or follow-up or counseling of patients and patient families.In addition, the Genetic Counselor 3 will have the responsibility to design, administer and evaluate specialized programs and/or serve as the designated expert/consultant or source of specialized knowledge within the Division of Genomic Medicine.REQUIREDGenetic Counselor 2--Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling .--Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling(ABGC).--Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in the State of California (or eligible to obtain license prior to hire).--Current or previous experience working as a genetic counselor. --Knowledge of counseling techniques and genetic test interpretation. Genetic Counselor 3 --Masters' Degree in Genetic Counseling.--Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).--Licensed as a Genetic Counselor in the State of California. --Current or previous experience working as a genetic counselor. --Experience designing, administering, and evaluating specialized counseling programs or serving as the designated experts, consultants, or sources of specialized knowledge within the genetic counseling profession.--Knowledge of counseling techniques and genetic test interpretation. PREFERRED--Current or previous experience working in general genetics or biochemical genetics. --Bilingual in Spanish language.--Program builder experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT--THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT.
