The Nurse Practitioner (NP) for the Huntington's Disease (HD) Programs serves in a leadership position to facilitate and implement the clinical, research, educational and outreach programs for the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) Center of Excellence (COE). The NP manages movement disorder patients in the outpatient setting utilizing advance nursing skills and medical care using approved standardized procedures. Serves as study coordinator and manager for Huntington's disease clinical trials. Manages HD outreach programs including the genetic pre-symptomatic testing program, nursing home outreach program, HD support help-line services, HD educational programs for patients, the HD community, medical and allied health professionals and studentsREQUIRED- Paid NP experience in a similar setting. - Current California RN License- Current California Nurse Practitioner License with Furnishing Privileges.- Current National Nurse Practitioner Certification from an accredited certifying agency. DEA and NPI registrationCITI and GCP certification and maintenance of all institutional research related certifications (Training will be provided by the program and institution)SPECIAL REQUIREMENT- Practice privileges as a Nurse Practitioner in the UCDHS-Ability to occasionally work on Saturdays for local and regional outreach programs. - Must have valid California drivers license and own method of transportation to COE program events.- Must be able to travel for off site work activities such as meetings, speaking engagements, and research related activities. - Must maintain all IRB required certifications and be able to add additional certification.- Ability to safely lift 25 lbs. and assist in moving patients, and stand on feet over extended periods.s as required by specific studies.- THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
