This role will primarily be responsible for leading ETL and reporting development in a data warehouse environment. Key activities include design, development, testing, documentation and data analysis as well as directing the day-to-day activities of a team of developers. The role will also assist with data architecture and data modeling needs. The role will work with business customers to understand reporting and other business needs and with delivery team members to deliver and maintain data sources supporting those needs. Primary Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain ETL jobs to create or enhance data warehouses/marts Design ETL via source-to-target mapping and design documents that consider security, performance tuning and other best practices Test ETL and other technical components and support QA activities Document technical specifications, data models, process flows, etc. Lead and direct the day-to-day work of a team of 2-4 other data warehouse developers Collaborate with delivery and technical team members on design and development activities Collaborate with business partners to understand business processes, underlying data and reporting needs Conduct data analysis in support of ETL development and other activities Assist with data architecture and data modeling deliverables
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree 10+ years with industry-standard ETL tools, including 3+ years with SSIS 10+ years with data warehouses/marts supporting BI and reporting needs 10+ years of intermediate to advanced SQL experience 5+ years of report development experience, including SSRS 5+ years healthcare payer domain knowledge 3+ years leading data warehouse development teams Business/data analysis experience Experience developing within an agile (i.e. Scrum or Kanban) frameworkPreferred Qualifications:Data architecture and data modeling experience Solution architecture experience Familiarity with Tableau Desktop and Server Familiarity with SAS data management and reporting tools Strong soft skills (e.g. communication, interpersonal, collaborative, resilient)UnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
