And we do it all with every action focused on our shared values of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation & Performance.The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for answering incoming calls / completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.Primary Responsibilities:Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate information Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues Processing prescriptions (from intake to order completion) Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is providedConstantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record Other tasks as assignedModerate work experience within own functionSome work is completed without established proceduresBasic tasks are completed without review by othersSupervision / guidance is required for higher level tasks
Requirements:High School Diploma or GED2+ years of Pharmacy Technician experienceFamiliarity with computers and Windows PC applications (this includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications)Basic knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug useAvailable to work 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through FridayVersed in USP 797 and Aseptic TechniqueKnowledgeable in regards to proper use and handling of hazardous medicationsPreferred Qualifications:National Pharmacy Technician Certification or Pharmacy Technician License in the State of New YorkSoft Skills:Good communication and problem solving skills - will be using the phone to communicate with patients and physicians officesMust be an independent thinkingStrong organization skillsTime management - able to meet daily deadlinesPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitorService center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activityOptumRx is an empowering place for people with the flexibility to help create change.
