The specialist provides active and pro-active learning activities teaching all users of the electronic medical record focused on successful individual proficiency of clinical and business workflow and processes in the ambulatory environment.Coordinate learning activities with other education/trainer activities consistent with the educational goals established.Align activities using educational concepts of assessing, planning, facilitating, implementing and evaluating learning effectiveness.Demonstrates competency with understanding ambulatory clinical and business functions.
·Bachelor's degree (preferably IS/Business or Healthcare emphasis) or an Associate's degree(preferably IS/Business or healthcare emphasis) with 2 years' relevant experience (IS/Business or Healthcare) or 4 years in Healthcare or IS/Business/physician office experience.
·One year experience in an ambulatory care setting or other technical/clinical experience.Understanding of basic ambulatory clinical processes of care and office practices; translating people, process and technology issues and conflicts.
·Experience with personal computers, information management, and computerized clinical systems.Proven ability to be self-directed and team oriented.
·Prior experience with an electronic medical record; prior teaching/education experience, preparing and sharing information is highly desirable.

8.In collaboration with leaders, responsible for selecting, training and developing a team of application specific super-users.
9.Maintains working knowledge of hardware and operating systems and is responsible to provide technical support for all clinical applications.
10.Leads vendor supplied and in-house software applications including but not limited to installation, customization, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing support.
11.Collaborates with members of the MMC team in the implementation and monitoring of clinical quality and other required data submissions to ensure compliance and maximize potential incentive payments.
12.Performs tasks related to maintaining a viable, on-going operating environment and demonstrates technical proficiency in all aspects of clinical applications.
13.Plans and organizes all clinical application projects, including but not limited to maintaining and upgrading software.
14.Performs research and analysis to support clinic operations and presents findings and recommendations to the leadership team.
15.Determines best practices and suggests how to improve current practices. Makes suggestions for workflow and process improvements, may modify, test and implement 3rd party software.
16.Works closely with appropriate vendors/Information Systems to provide appropriate hardware/software support and in-system troubleshooting.
17.Functions as the primary resource for all clinical applications' internal questions; provides assistance to personnel in trouble shooting and resolving clinical applications' problems and/or issues.
18.Functions as the primary resource for advancing the use of the patient portal software including patient and staff education
19.Assures adequate system testing has taken place prior to major systems changes, modifications or upgrades.
20.Provides new employee orientation to applicable clinical applications and ongoing education necessary to assure efficient and effective role function
21.Assists in prioritizing projects and tasks and assures that all requests are satisfied in a timely manner, while maintaining proper operating records and documentation at all times.
22.Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare operations along with the business and clinical areas.
23.Supports Help Desk functions on an assigned basis by working with IS to resolve user issues.
24.Provides end user at-the-elbow support on all physician network application functionality.
25.Documents common issues and end user suggestions and requests enhancements as appropriate from IS.
26.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
