Responsible to take the overall strategic direction established by the Shared Services organization and develop the necessary tactics to achieve the Plan. Develops RFP and RFQ's for capital, goods, and purchase services. Manage the RFP/RFQ process from development, contract negotiations, and implementation. Will work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership to drive best practices, streamline utilization, and overall value. The ideal person enjoys working with others, is process oriented, and will get into the details of analyzing and implementing cost saving opportunities.
Collaborates with supply chain and other leadership from each member system to ensure strategies are understood, aligned, and implemented.
Works with the VP of Operations and the Shared Services Committee in the areas of capital, supply, purchased services, equipment optimization and distribution planning.
Develops RFP/RFQ and works with vendors to ensure fast and effective responses to the RFP/RFQ.
Negotiates with vendors, along with Share Services Committee members, focused on best quality at the best possible price.
Works with VP of Operations to achieve $10M – $15M in annual savings for the members.
Works to create an agreed upon approach with each RFP/RFQ and works with members to achieve optimal implementation after contract complete.
Oversees the analytic review and support of supply chain activities to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of medical surgical supplies, capital equipment, clinical preference supplies and purchased services.
Develops partner relationships with key vendors, manufacturers and group purchasing organizations to improve quality and efficiency of the overall supply chain.
Works to develop standardization of products and equipment throughout the member organizations in alignment with member expectations.
Ensures alignment between system members for all procurement and logistic/distribution activities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in related field.
Five years of experience in all aspects of Supply Chain for a large integrated healthcare system or other large business environments.
Demonstrated expertise in negotiating contracts for products and services.
Skills in tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large supply chain operations. Skills in developing sound proposals and successfully implementing program/project plans. An understanding of health care delivery systems and health care dynamics a plus.
Leadership skills in coordinating large groups, several departments, or multiple businesses to a consensus.
Demonstrates expert level problem-solving, creativity and strategy development in the face of new competitive challenges.
Excellent communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with senior administrators, department leaders, physicians, vendors and clinical staff.
This position requires travel so will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
