As Quality Engineering Director, Claims and Billing, you will lead a matrixed team that efficiently and effectively tests $21MM of software development which supports a 70% increase in claims adjudicated over the past 2 years. The technology investments encompass Growth programs, Critical Customer Support, Regulatory and Compliance projects. These programs directly support our clients' CMS STAR rating and their compliance with annual CMS regulation changes: STARs Medicare Plan finder, Direct Member Reimbursement, Opioid Limits, and Call Letters. This is a transformational leadership opportunity to attack quality improvement from the front end (multi-disciplinary Defect Boards) and back end (Testing Services), ultimately delivering a reduced cost of quality. In this role you will:Build a high performing team of software quality assurance associates, managers, and vendor partners Increase speed to market with more frequent releases supported by quality engineering Advise partners on how to improve their overall quality in technology delivery, driving continuous improvement of the Cost of Quality Partner with OptumRx Technology staff on their information technology strategy, with the software quality assurance people, process, and technology in mind
Required Experience:15+ years of progressively larger experience in an Analyst, Developer, Support, Six Sigma or Quality Assurance role working on complex software programs 2+ years of experience working as a Director overseeing IT QA managers and team Experience creating and implementing plans to achieve strategic objectives, including shifting from quality assurance to quality engineering, A/B testing, agile delivery, DevOps delivery, integrated test strategies, integrated test data, and environment coordination Experience obtaining results in a globally-matrixed environment Experience with a variety of technology delivery models: onshore, offshore, insourced, outsourced, and hybrid Demonstrated understanding of corporate financial disciplines - budgeting, reporting and P&L Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the health insurance industry or other highly regulated industry Process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six SigmaCompetencies:Superior interpersonal skills, able to gain support for initiatives through influence and use of business rationale Experience mentoring junior leaders Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise Willing to manage multi - site, virtual and matrixed teams Experience understanding complex technical issues and explaining them to key stakeholdersTechnology Careers with Optum.
