As Quality Engineering Director, you will lead a matrixed team that efficiently and effectively tests $15MM of software development. This investment encompasses Pricing, Analytics, and Industry Relations, all data intensive products and capabilities. In this capacity, the Director is responsible for transforming the delivery organization by attacking quality improvement from the front end (Product Quality reviews) and back end (Testing Services). These have been historically underserved areas and the delivery teams are still dynamic and maturing. Primary Responsibilities:Build a high performing team of software quality assurance associates, managers, and vendor partners Increase speed to market with more frequent releases supported by quality engineering Advise partners on how to improve their overall quality in technology delivery, driving continuous improvement of the Cost of Quality Partner with OptumRx Technology staff on their information technology strategy, with the software quality assurance people, process, and technology in mind
Required Experience:15+ years of progressively larger experience in an Analyst, Developer, Support, Six Sigma or Quality Assurance role working on complex software programs 2+ years of experience working as a Director overseeing IT QA managers and team Experience working in a data intensive field, ideally with big data or machine learning Experience creating and implementing plans to achieve strategic objectives, including shifting from quality assurance to quality engineering, A/B testing, agile delivery, DevOps delivery, integrated test strategies, integrated test data, and environment coordination Experience obtaining results in a globally-matrixed environment Experience with a variety of technology delivery models: onshore, offshore, insourced, outsourced, and hybrid Demonstrated understanding of corporate financial disciplines - budgeting, reporting and P&L Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the health insurance industry or other highly regulated industry Process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six SigmaCareers with OptumRx.
