Join us and start doing your life's best work.Primary Responsibilities:Focused efforts on increasing cash and reducing bad debtInterpret Explanation of Benefits for appropriate follow up actionComplete refunds / adjustments to customer's accounts, while providing necessary back-up information in order to maintain accuracyContact Third Party carriers to follow up on denied and un-responded claimsAnalyze and apply denialsProcess and review claims and appealsEvaluate and respond to all aspects of written billing inquiries from the patient or their representative in order to resolve billing issuesMake contact with insurance carriers, clients, patients and / or other outside sourcesRegular research involving both the web and billing systemsSubmit claims daily to Emdeon and work all errors and rejections Process preauthorization's and predetermination for all contracted insurances when appropriateMaintain Compliance and HIPAA standards at all timesMeet or exceed daily production standardsMeet or exceed daily quality standardsAbility to work on various other projects as needed
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 6+ months of experience in A / R, Billing, Customer Service, Healthcare InsuranceAbility to create and modify spreadsheets within Microsoft ExcelAbility to work overtime as needed and work Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:30pm ESTAbility to use a keyboard for Data entry skillsPreferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree or higher Soft Skills: Ability to work within multiple applications with dual computer screensExcellent communication skillsDemonstrated problem solving skillsGood organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computerService center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activityCareers with OptumInsight.
