The Consultant will direct and tasks and/or a series of smaller projects, ensuring that all projects are conducted with sound methods and techniques. Successful candidates will have research experience in the specific content area as well as experience in business development, grant or proposal writing, and program evaluation. Key Responsibilities May Include: Writing: The ability to rapidly grasp what is required in a response to a proposal, develop an outline that clearly "answers the question", and write narrative that clearly and concisely addresses that question. Understanding of writing conventions, including use of active voice, avoidance of complex sentences, etc. Staff Oversight: Ability to foster a positive team atmosphere. Provide timely and direct feedback to supervisees in a positive, future-oriented way Project Management: Multiple years of experience running project teams, working under tight timeframes. Ability to lead a team, providing structure where needed and empowering staff to take initiative and ownership of tasks Use software and other tools to organize project tasks to keep projects on target Proposal Development/Management: Familiar with the overall proposal development process. Ability to help manage proposals. We anticipate this person receiving Lewin's version of proposal management training, team-tagging on 1-2 proposals and then managing proposals on their own Utilize Medicare or Medicaid Program and State Healthcare Systems: Utilize Medicare or Medicaid rules/requirements including eligibility, managed care, etc Use statistical analysis tools organize data and draw conclusions Assist with projects requiring quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.literature reviews Conduct comprehensive statistical analysis using electronic databases Analyze findings to evaluate the evidence regarding various health policy topics and health technology. Assist with conference and expert panel meeting planning and coordination Prepare and participate in team and client project meetings
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of industry experience required; or a Masters with 3+ years of industry experience or a PhD3+ years' experience managing mid-large tasks on projects and/or small-mid sized projects including but not limited to staff, subcontractors, tasks, timelines etc. 2+ years of work experience in healthcare and/or health policy research/analysis.1+ years of work experience organizing and supervising the work of others in the conduct of research, policy analysis, program evaluation, technical assistance or strategic planning1+ years of work experience writing request for proposals1+ years of project management experience.Expert level knowledge of concepts and methodologies in the health care environment Preferred Qualifications:3+ years' experience with Medicaid program and state healthcare systems Knowledge of Medicaid rules/requirements including eligibility, managed careExperience using SAS, R, SPSS or similar toolsExperience with data modeling or data manipulationsCareers with Optum.
