Minimum of one year experience in a radiology department or hospital clinical setting
Knowledge of computer system helpful
Accountable for providing professional care to patients, families and/or significant others.
Completes basic patient assessment.
Assists with the Radiologic Technologist or Radiologist with a variety of Radiologic procedures
°Verify patient orders
°Complete patient questionnaires
°Explains examination procedures
Ensures the availability of required pre-procedure information (i.e., previous films, lab results, etc.). Perform general radiologic portable, x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging equipment set-up and turnover.
Perform filming where appropriate (i.e., CT, MRI).
Performs computerized requisition, resulting and data entry as required.
May prepare/administer oral gastrografin and discontinue IV's under the direction of the Radiologist. Coordinate patient flow within given modalities and between radiology and the ED and IP units.
By phone or in person answers/triages inquiries from clinicians, office staff, scheduling, registration, patients/family, etc.
May assist with on-going or special QC/CQI activities.
Select, load, process, manage and assemble films for exam and radiologist review/interpretation.
May transport patients, cassettes and paperwork.
Ensure the adequate availability of procedural supplies.
Adheres to prescribed standards for radiation protection and magnet safety.
