Supervise the clinical operations of the Diagnostic Radiology Department and Support staff. Coordinate the services provided with other departments, hospital personnel, and medical staff to meet the needs of the patients of the Sinai Health System. Orients new employees to clinical procedures. Educates physicians, caregivers, and other health care workers in Diagnostic Radiology procedures Provided direct Diagnostic Radiology patient care Strong knowledge with all rules and regulations that impact areas of responsibility. Main focus TJC, IDPDH, IEMA, and Sinai Health System guidelines. Provides direct assistance to patients, physicians, visitors, and fellow caregivers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Assists Manager in maintaining and developing department policies and procedures, Reflecting current knowledge, best practices and standards of care for Diagnostic Radiology and Support Services. Educates and holds team accountable for following policies and procedures.
Monitors proper equipment function. Makes recommendations to Manager concerning staffing and equipment needs. Contacts service in a timely manner and works within service contract and or service insurance restraints. Maintains quality control standard of equipment and accessory care
Demonstrates knowledge of exams done in assigned areas of Diagnostic Radiology and Support Services. Provides reports Manager to report at the Monthly Quality Meeting any patient occurrences,
Completes and ensures team completes exam process in Meditech consistently and monitors Ordered and Taken status list. Works with Diagnostic Support Services to keep images transferring. Trains technologists on quality in tracking the exams. Reports back to Director and Monthly Quality Meeting tracking quality.
Works collaboratively with Manager to monitor and correct patient and/or physician schedules to anticipate any coordination issues prior to exams. Assists in arranging for equipment PM, downtime or training along with revising the patient and technologists schedules as needed. Uses critical thinking to resolve any problems and complaints to ensure continued efficiency of department. Maintains friendly, professional interaction among staff and departments.
Associates Degree in Applied Science in Radiology required Bachelors Degree preferred

7 years technical experience 3 years in leadership role
