Primary Responsibilities:Provide OptumRx business leaders with effective advice and counsel on regulatory and transactional matters, pre-litigation disputes and business strategies Operating in a strategic and pro-active manner to assist our internal business clients in managing their relationships with customers and managing the legal and regulatory risk related to prescription drug programsFunctioning as part of a high performing, collegial teamAs a member of the OptumRx legal team, close collaboration with colleagues is expected, as well as a willingness to adapt to the changing legal support requirements of our growing business.
Required Qualifications:Juris Doctorate degree 5 or more years of legal experience in health care regulatory and transactional practicesUnderstanding of the managed health care industry preferred, including knowledge of ERISA, federal and state anti-kickback and self-referral laws, HIPAA and Medicare Part D regulations Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with the pharmacy and pharmacy benefits management industriesSoft Skills:Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts, with demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to team effortCareers with Optum.
