The Supervisor functions in a leadership position for the Nursing Department.. During a designated time period, the supervisor is administratively in charge of the hospital. The Supervisor responsible to a nurse manager and the Director of Rehab Nursing,reporting any pertinent information to the CNO or nurse manager on call. The Nursing Supervisor assists in fulfilling the vision, mission and values of the department. and is available to provide direct patient care, when necessary
Successfully completes evaluations/competencies and corporate compliance in all identified areas.
Ensures appropriate delivery of care. Utilizes chain of command in a timely manner.
Provides guidance to nursing staff in the development, implementation, evaluation and communication of a therapeutic plan of care.
Oversees appropriate parental notification or consent for outside appointments or special tests or procedures.
Oversees parental overnight visits. Provides feedback to parents to promote a therapeutic environment, if needed.
Oversees patient assignments for the shift to facilitate equitable patient caseloads
Fosters a therapeutic environment by facilitating intra/inter department, interdisciplinary communication and work flow
Assures adequate amounts of needed supplies and equipment. Orders or rectifies shortages in a timely manner.
Fosters the maintenance of a safe working environment in the nursing units and in the hospital during off shifts. Coordinates risk management process, giving feedback and coaching staff in a timely manner.
Conducts customer service rounds to ensure delivery of quality care. Recordspatient concerns and initiates service recovery plans. Follows through with service recovery plans initiated by other nursing staff and Hot line coverage and follow-up
Assumes leadership role in emergency situations, including but not limited to Medical emergencies, fire safety, evacuation, man-made or natural disasters, and other life or environmentally threatening situations. Implements disaster preparedness policy and procedures.
Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Illinois
Minimum 1 year of rehabilitation or related experience
