Leading us into this new market along with the CEO will be the Market CFO. The Market CFO will be a senior leader that supports the success of the market by serving as the financial advisor and strategic business partner to the local market CEO, regional CFO, and the health plan leadership team. The Market CFO will have complete managerial and executive oversight for all aspects surrounding the financial planning, reporting and analysis of the health plan. In addition to traditional finance responsibilities, the CFO will work closely with network, operations and provider relations to help build the infrastructure of this plan. This position reports directly to the regional CFO and indirectly to the local market CEO. Primary Responsibilities:- Strategic partnership with senior leadership on the creation and execution of the strategic business plan- Lead in completion of market forecasts, budgets and financial analysis- Support market case specific underwriting and pricing decisions across each line of business and geography to optimize pricing and growth- Lead strategic projects that have an impact inside and outside of Finance- Partner with the senior leadership team to establish profitable, sustainable, broad-based market share growth - Develop market competitive affordable products- Improve sales & account management performance across each line of business- Establish operating cost efficiency, including all controllable and distribution expenses- Lead in identifying market financial risks & opportunities by analyzing trends in areas including membership, pricing, provider performance, medical costs and operating costs- Provide comprehensive balanced advice on finance policies
Required Qualifications:- 7+ years of relevant financial and operational management experience- 3 + years of Commercial Healthcare Finance experience- Exceptional financial acumen and P&L management skills- Strong presentation skills - Ability to influence and negotiate complex situations - Strong communication skills (written & verbal) - Complex problem solving abilities - Ability to provide objective, analytical evaluation of health plan financial results- Excellent data analysis skills with the demonstrated ability to turn analysis into action- Strong work ethic, independence and dependability; takes on broad new challenges- Ability to work well in a matrix environment - In-depth healthcare knowledge- Bachelor's degree (preferably in accounting, finance or economics) Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
