� Decontamination of Instruments: Hand was instruments as documented by procedure.
� Operate washer / disinfectors, ultrasonic and pasteurmatic.
� Decontaminate equipment for O.R., Physicians, Respiratory Care, and other departments.
o Responsible for daily testing of all sterilizers.
o Tests each sterilizer with steam load: mechanical, chemical, biological indicators.
o Maintains records of items sterilized and tests the outcomes.
o Properly operates the sterilizer cycles and sterilizes all instruments required.
o Instruments are all accounted for and in correct order and form.
o Assembles instruments into correct sets; packaging, wrapping and placing in containers with appropriate sterilization indicators.
o Inspects instruments carefully in conjunction with the individual accountability action plan
o Has efficient turn-around of instruments for subsequent surgical cases.
o Inventories implant sets and replaces implants from stocked supply in conjunction with the individual action plan.
o Documents the implants that are replaced.

o Inspects implants, returns back-stock and replaces sets upon receiving order.
� Assembles re-useable basin sets in correct order/form in conjunction with the individual accountability action plan.
o Inventories supplies 5 days per week
o Enters orders into the computer and/or on work board as needed.
o Cleaning of specialty supply carts on rotation basis. Rotates stock and orders as appropriate in conjunction with the individual accountability action plan.
o Makes OR runs for additional supply requests.
o Pulls supplies and instruments for scheduled surgeries and add-on cases .
o Maintains required number of emergency case carts.
o Utilizes computer generated, surgeon specific preference cards.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Greater than 1 month
License / Certification / Registration: None, but must obtain ASHCSP certification within 18 months of date of hire.
Working Environment: Works in a well lit, heated and ventilated area. Position requires considerable mobility throughout the facilities. Potential exposure to routine, communicable diseases through regular contact with associates and the public at large.
