The Associate Counsel aids the legal team in providing high quality direction, guidance and assistance on legal, strategic and operational matters to Jupiter Medical Center's executive leadership. This position supports Jupiter Medical Center's legal team with legal issues pertaining, but not limited to, third party contracts, employment contracts, employment and labor matters, commercial leasing, and general compliance with healthcare law and regulations. The ideal candidate will be motivated self-starter with superb judgment and communication skills and a commitment to excellence. This position offers the candidate the opportunity to focus on a range of transactional and compliance work. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts and other legal documents for a variety of commercial transactions, including vendor agreements, independent contractors, commercial leases, physician agreements, payer agreements, research studies, software licensing, professional services, etc.
Hands-on day-to-day advising of executive leadership and management teams on contract interpretation and legal issues, vendor negotiations, and hospital/physician contracting and management.
Providing legal counsel regarding medical-legal matters in the form of formal and informal written communications, verbal communications, meetings, and education sessions.
Researching, analyzing, and applying state and federal law related to healthcare entities and licensed health care professionals.
Collaborating with and overseeing outside counsel on complex corporate and legal matters, and litigation.
Staying current with legal and regulatory developments in healthcare and keeping leadership up informed of such changes.
Creating, reviewing, and updating internal policies and procedures in an ever-changing regulatory and reimbursement environment.
