PeaceHealth is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist - Bellingham (Part-Time) for a per diem, Day shift position.

Responsible for performing routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Epilepsy Monitoring and Polysomnography (PSG). Operates computer equipment to record nervous system responses that provide quantitative and objective measures of neuronal/sensory function.
1. Schedule patients' neurodiagnostic procedures and obtain required medical information. Explain procedure to patient.
2. Perform procedure with appropriate documentation. This may include EEG/EP; continuous bedside EEG, LTVME, and ambulatory monitoring; OR monitoring of EEG or EP; Multiple Sleep Latency testing.
3. Appropriate documentation into patient health record.
4. Clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance and repair on neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure proper functioning.
5. Maintain liaison with referring physicians to resolve problems and to advise concerning laboratory procedures, techniques and equipment.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of an accredited EEG/EP training required.
Minimum of one year experience in Neurodiagnostic Technology preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
R.EEG T. or R.EPT. preferred.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
Basic working knowledge of MS Office applications
Must be able to recognize equipment problems and perform basic troubleshooting.
ST JOSEPH PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires moderate physical exertion more than 66% of the time.
Ability to lift objects weighing 50 lbs. or less.
Work requires frequent exposure to minor cold, heat, poor ventilation or sharp instruments. Reasonably anticipated exposure to blood and body fluids once per month or more.
Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (34-65% of work time).
