The Online Senior Instructional Designer, a member of the ADU Faculty, oversees a variety of services supporting the design, development and production of technology enabled courses for online courses and programs. Provides creative direction. Builds and oversees the creation of new modules and programs. Conducts research and provides visionary concepts for use in instructional learning materials, academic settings and online content. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Advanced knowledge of educational technology, adult learn ing principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and teambuilding skills Exceptionally strong attention to detail Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, adhere to budgets, and meet deadlines Ability to influence and lead peers Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design Ability to work in a multi-tasking innovative environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master~s degree in Instructional design, Higher Education, Curriculum Development or similar. Two years of teaching experience Three years of Instructional Design experience In-depth development and production experience Experience in learning design Experience conducting training sessions for both small and large groups Experience with Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, D2L or similar learning management systems LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: N/A PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates behaviors at Adventist University of Health Sciences in harmony with the Four Words Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship. Works collaboratively with the COO for ADU Online and oversees the design and revision of online courses for online programs. Sets development standards which ensure that online courses are organized effectively and aligns learning objectives with assessment, practice, and instruction. Incorporates authentic learning assignments and assessments that encourage critical thinking skills and self-directed learning while promoting interaction, social presence , and community among students and faculty. Assists faculty with design and redesign of highly interactive and academically rigorous courses that include storyboarding of interactive learning objects. Ensures courses are designed on time, on budget, and according to specifications. Supports and guides the work of an Instructional Designer. Develops faculty training and student orientation materials. Oversees the process of continual improvement for online courses, utilizing principles of Quality Matters, or other quality rubrics.
