As a Quality Assurance Applications Developer, you will build effective tools and infrastructure to test complex, large-scale distributed systems. You will work with developers and quality analysts to defined and develop new tools to automate tasks and build software that helps make test execution more efficient. The candidate will be required to develop robust and maintainable applications to automate processes and test cases.You should know that it takes some time to adjust to the pace of this intense, high performance environment. You'll need to navigate a variety of complex systems and teams. You'll also need to be rigorous in your approach to formalized development processes and systems security. Positions in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value. *Employees in jobs labeled with SCA must support a Government Service Contract Act (SCA) Agreement. Primary Responsibilities:Development of newly automated processes using Excel Macros / VBA Scripts.Take complete responsibility for solution delivery including analysis, design, development, testing, and user coordination.Ensure smooth delivery and support of new tools delivered.Keep up to date documentation for all new and updated user tools.Maintain technical documentation and ensure that knowledge is shared with other members of the team. Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed.Works with less structured, more complex issues.Serves as a resource to others.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science/ Information Technology or High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of Programming experience3+ years of Macros in Microsoft Excel experience2+ years of Basic or VBA programming experience2+ years of experience working with SQL and ODBC1+ years of experience working with data files formats such as CSV, Fixed-length, and XMLPreferred Qualifications:Experience with ETL and with data manipulations and translationsExperience with Test AutomationHealthcare or PBM experience is a plusIf you're the kind of Developer who wants to bring it to a new level every day, bring yourself over to Optum.
