Join us and help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) The Care Services Clinical Operations team supports Advanced Practice Clinicians in the HouseCalls and Complex Care Management businesses by providing telephonic consultation to plan members and their healthcare providers in a call center environment. The Care Services team of call center clinicians includes care manager assistants, dietitians, licensed practical nurses, nurse care managers, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and social workers. The Supervisor of Clinical Operations will report directly to the Director of Clinical Operations. The Supervisor will oversee the day to day operations of interdisciplinary teams of nurse care managers, social workers, dietitians, licensed practical nurses, and care manager assistants as they perform telephonic support to members and Advanced Practice Clinicians. The Supervisor will be responsible for engaging and coaching their teams to meet and exceed established productivity and quality metrics. The Supervisor will work with the other Supervisors and Managers of Clinical Operations in the department to align processes, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency across the department. Additionally, the Supervisor will contribute to projects led by the Program Management, Clinical Execution, Stars/Strategy, Interaction Design, and Operations. The Supervisor will also perform telephonic support on an "as needed" basis. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Lead and develop staffServe as a mentor, a coach and a promoter of professional developmentManage a team of cliniciansEnsure that team members are achieving or exceeding production and quality metricsAnalyze performance statistics of teams to identify opportunities for coachingAssist with the implementation and monitoring of corrective action planningEnsure that staffing levels are maintained at all timesOversee recruitment activitiesDrive employee engagement and perform random audits to ensure that employees maintain job satisfactionWork with Director of Clinical Operations and Senior Leadership to adapt team plans and priorities to address business and operational challengesCommunicate organizational priorities and vision to team membersCreate and/or revise departmental policies, job descriptions, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with CMS, STARs, and HEDIS requirementsWork with Director of Clinical Operations and other Supervisors and Managers of Clinical Operations to align processes, policies, and procedures across the departmentServe as a conduit between the call center clinicians, Directors of Clinical Operations and the Business Operations team to achieve high operational efficienciesIdentify and organize metrics that are usable and actionableEnsure that staffing resources are allocated correctly, and shifted appropriately when necessaryResolve any discrepancies within production reportsIdentify, report, and troubleshoot any operational issues that prevent call center clinicians from performing their day to day activitiesMaintain the clinical integrity of programs offered Serve as a clinical resource and consultant in all clinical areasEnhance Employee Development at the clinician levelAssist with, and participate in, training programs related to Productivity, Quality, Health Literacy, and Medicare STARs/HEDIS initiativesSupport medical management and clinical/quality initiatives across the organizationSupport the Program Team with XL Care enhancements/testing/functionality, when neededAssist the Interaction Design team in implementing new initiatives, when neededPerform clinical consults with members on an "as needed" basis, as determined by business needs
Required Qualifications:Current unrestricted RN license in state of residence5+ years RN level professional experience3+ years leadership, supervisory, or management experience BSN or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare ManagementAbility to manage multiple complex, concurrent projectsExcellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skillsPlanning and organizational skills to demonstrate leadership and initiativeKnowledge of health care delivery systemExperience driving production/performance metricsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointAbility to work independently, as well as a member of a teamStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications:Mandatory certifications: URAC approved Case Management certification within two years of assuming the positionRN licensure in a compact stateCase Management experienceExperience in managed care, call center, or telephonic care environmentsExperience in working with Medicare/Medicaid populationsExperience managing a large staff to manager ratioUnitedHealth Group is working to create the health care system of tomorrow.
