Primary Responsibilities: Adhere to and maintains required levels of performance in both Coding accuracy and productivityIdentify appropriate assignment of CPT and ICD-10 Codes for Physician and facility services provided in an Observation service setting, and Inpatient settingUnderstanding of ICD-10 Coding in relation to DRGsMaintain a thorough understanding of assigned Client Coding specificsPerform Coding duties as appropriate according to pre-determined schedulesReview and maintain a record of charts coded, held, and/or missingProvide documentation feedback to Providers, as needed, and queries physicians when appropriateMaintain up-to-date Coding knowledge by reviewing materials disseminated/recommended by the QM Manager, Coding Operations Managers, and Director of Coding/Quality Management, among othersParticipate in Coding department meetings and educational eventsThe key challenge of this role centers around your ability to work quickly, accurately and independently. Extensive use of electronic medical records in an ICD-10 environment is also required.
