We have an opening for a PRN/Per Diem (As Needed) Dental Hygienist to work at our employer health center located in Greer, SC!

Assesses patient needs, and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to patients. Utilizes established dental hygiene protocols and procedures.
Delivers direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental hygienist procedures.
Performs routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, polishing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, and related procedures while meeting the Health Centers minimum productivity requirements per year as set by the Center and Dental Director (prorated per FTE).
Provides and manages direct patient care, including intra and extra oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment
Performs required clinical procedures following established protocols for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases
Maintains equipment and supplies, keeps recall lists appropriate to the need of the individual patient, and works with the Registrars to schedule patients according to these needs.
Works with the Dental Director to help develop and implement systems to improve patient care and compliance
Assesses dental condition and needs of patient, uses patient screening procedures, to include medical history review, dental charting, and perio charting.
Takes patient vital signs as required
Develops and implements individualized dental care plans for patients.
Performs patient education, treatment planning, and patient/family teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist
Maintains patients' dental records, documents dental history or chief complaint.
Records and reports pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate.
Documents lab procedures and ensures follow up on results
Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs
Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients
Performs patient triage and initiates patient care as appropriate for walk-in patients
Performs other related duties as assigned

Graduate from an accredited program of Dental Hygiene and in accordance with Dental State Board guidelines
Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
Knowledge of dental equipment and techniques
Digital x-ray knowledge (Dexis)
Must have thorough knowledge of the principles of practices and techniques of dental hygiene
Knowledge of current regulations on practices for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases.
Ability to work as part of the health care center team
At least one-year experience preferred
Strong computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.)
Experience with Dentrix a plus
Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
