·Identify, implement and evaluate initiatives to improve patient safety, quality and infection prevention across the health system.
·Lead the infection prevention team and safety advocates.
·Provide leadership to assure integration of process improvement into the patient safety and infection prevention processes and standard work.
·Lead research and implementation of evidenced based infection prevention and patient safety standards and practices to meet regulations, prevent and reduce risk of infections and adverse patient events.
·Utilize data and reports from multiple sources to analyze and prioritize process improvement initiatives specific to infection prevention and patient safety.
·Utilize a collaborative approach to problem solving infection prevention and patient safety issues.
·Lead performance improvement (PI) teams for institution/system and uses advanced PI tools/methods to integrate infection prevention and patient safety practices within and across the health system.
·Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development.
·Responsible for regulatory compliance as it relates to joint commission standards specific to infection prevention and patient safety.
·Committed to the continuous improvement of the patient experience which includes patient safety, quality of care and excellent service.
·Adhere to the organization's published values.
·Current RN license, physician assistant/nurse practitioner or medical laboratory specialist.
·CPHQ, Lean/Six Sigma preferred.
·Master's degree in nursing, epidemiology or public health preferred.
·Five (5) years of clinical experience, leading process improvement efforts or teams.Researching and implementing evidenced based practice required.
·Adept at use of performance improvement tools such as Lean and Six Sigma to drive quality, safety and satisfaction outcomes.
·Highly refined interpersonal skills and interpersonal communication skills in order to relate and interact across all levels and functions in the organization.
·Ability to interface with clinical and non-clinical teams at various levels of the organization.Must be a highly motivated, confident, self-directed and results oriented with attention to detail.
·Must demonstrate and consistently display customer focused, interpersonal skills with patients, families, physicians, hospital associates and visitors.
·Must present a professional demeanor and dress.
·Must have high level negotiation skills, experience in financial/value analysis of programs and related projects, relationship management, ability to influence and persuade up to and including the executive level, team and consensus building within and across stakeholder groups.
·Knowledge of/familiarity with national standards for quality, safety and healthcare standards preferred.
·Skilled in safety/risk assessment, project management, group facilitation, data analysis, leading interdisciplinary teams.
·Knowledge and experience of MS Word Office, Sharepoint, Excel and project management tracking tools desired.
