JOB SUMMARY: The Vice President of Pharmacy Services/Chief Pharmacy Officer will report to the COO and will lead the pharmacy enterprise to provide service to our patients, our family and our home through adoption of industry leading and transformative best practices. The VP will be responsible for providing strategic direction, vision for a value-based model and quality pharmacy services throughout the continuum of care. The VP will draw upon their demonstrated expertise in pharmacy to accurately assess pharmacy-operating environments, appraise and prioritize challenges, and design operational plans to achieve efficient, high performing pharmacy programs encompassing human resources, service delivery optimization, automation and information technology applications, cost effective formulary & inventory optimization, population health initiatives (wellness, prevention, and disease management), medication use, safety and regulatory readiness. The VP must establish strong collaborative relationships with key medical, nursing and executive leaders throughout the organization and external key stakeholders to achieve bold and innovative pharmacy services that are in alignment with the system¿s strategic plans. The VP will be expected to continuously assess healthcare and pharmacy environments and proactively develop short and long term strategies to ensure that the pharmacy department is well-positioned for current and future success.
1. Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy + related Master's Degree required; (PharmD preferred)+Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy
2. Work Experience (Years and Area): 8 years pharmacy experience.
3. Management Experience (Years and Area): 5 years pharmacy management/operations experience in director level or above 4. Equipment Operated: N/A
