In this newly created leadership role, you will provide management and oversight of business operations, project management, and analytic strategy for an Analytics Product team within Optum Enterprise Analytics. This individual will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for product and other analytic solutions that address the measurement of health care services including cost, utilization, quality and risk. The Director of Operations and Execution will work closely with other leaders to support and assist clinicians, project managers, methodologists, and analytics team members with complex operations issues and strategic decisions. Primary responsibilities will include: Manage a team of programmers, methodologists, business analysts, research analysts, and data scientists Provide project support, performance management, and career development guidance to direct reports Work closely with the Analytic Product leads to define and execute on a strategic vision that meets the needs of an evolving healthcare market Conduct team, strategy and leadership meetings and follow up on issues as needed Lead forecasting, resource management, and capacity assessments Facilitate internal team collaboration Manage the approval process for travel requests, subscriptions, and licenses Manage requisition submissions, hiring, and onboarding of new staff Manage and track intra/intersegment statements of agreement and statements of work Lead or support initiatives to improve quality and efficiencyIdentify, lead, and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures
Required Qualifications: 10 + years of project management experience Demonstrated experience performing project management tasks including: work plans; financial budgets; timelines; status reports; issue management; resource and personnel management; and contractingExperience working on a team across multiple functional areas (e.g., Finance, Clinicians, Methodologists, Research/Business Analysts, Legal)Demonstrated ability to successfully lead project teams Demonstrated success in meeting project time, quality and financial targets in matrixed organizationsExcellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills Demonstrated organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize and multi taskProficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)Experience with MS Project Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity3 + years staff supervision and/or management experience Master's level or more advanced degree, or equivalent experiences Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading initiatives to improve quality and efficiency3 + years of healthcare experienceExperience with data from claims or clinical data systems (Electronic Medical Records) Careers with Optum.
