As a PharmacyTechnician, you'll be responsible for answering incoming calls / completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity. Primary Responsibilities:Enter prescriptions and verifying appropriate information Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve issues Process refills for patients weeklyAssess patients weekly regarding medication and any affects it may have on themResolve customer issues; ensuring accurate information is providedConsistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance recordPrefer certified pharmacy technician and must be registered in the state of ConnecticutOpportunity to cross-train as a compounding techDealing with patients that are in need of specialty IV medicationsWorking with a team of people Must be willing to assist in other areas of the pharmacy
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED Current New Jersey Pharmacy Technician Registration1+ years of experience providing customer service and working with healthcare professionals1+ years of Pharmacy Technician experience1+ years of experience with prescription order entryDemonstrated ability in using computer and Windows PC applications, which includes strong keyboard and navigation skills and learning new computer programsDemonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook (send emails), Microsoft Word (create basic documents), and Microsoft Excel (create and data entry for basic spreadsheets) to complete work assignmentsPreferred Qualifications:National Pharmacy Technician CertificationCPR + Software Experience Soft Skills: Experience working in a team environmentAbility to show empathyAbility to identify problems including complex issues and determine solutions, both independently or in a team / group settingCommunication skills including the ability to consult / advise, demonstrate empathy, and provide clear instructions or directionsGetting it right in the OptumRx pharmacy is just the starting point for excellence, impact and purpose in your career.
