Performs basic and advanced technician functions for inpatients and outpatients of all age groups for Lakeland Regional Health System.
All functions are performed under the supervision or authority of a registered pharmacist.
These responsibilities include delivery of supplies, inpatient and outpatient prescription preparation, intravenous admixture, data entry, QA, CQI, DUE, floor inspections, narcotics controls and preparation of enteral feedings, to all patient age groups.
Technicians assigned to solely work at Lakeland Specialty Hospital are only responsible for adult and geriatric age groups.
High School diploma or GED required.
An Associates Degree from an accredited College is preferred.
Current Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
Current pharmacy technician certification thru PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) is required.
Must have the ability to understand medical terminology and medication names.
Must be able to use a computer, typewriter, fax machine, copy machine, telephone, adding machine and cash register.
