Summary: Supports the development of trauma system members and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence based practice. Provide professional development as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, collaborator and leader within the facility and community. Partner with leadership and learners throughout the educational process of assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development. Assists the Trauma Program Manager by completing activities that support the Trauma Program, including injury prevention, community outreach, staff development and education, and any other trauma-related activities. Contributes to injury prevention, quality and patient safety, along with the professional development of others and influencing trauma care within the community and facility. Evaluates standards of practice and leads initiatives/changes to improve the delivery of high quality, comprehensive care to individuals, families and population.

Identifies clinical concerns amenable to education with the ability to recognize and communicate variances in care and design methods to reduce the impact on the quality of care and cost. - Participates in the identification, design, implementation and evaluation of system and practice standards to improve clinical knowledge and performance within the Trauma Program. Assists in coordinating the development or modifications of practice guidelines. - Collects and analyzes data that supports Trauma performance improvement and injury prevention needs by identifying variations in patient care delivery and mechanisms of injury measuring clinical outcomes parameters. Generates routine departmental reports and develops specialized reports and forms for/from database as requested. Is responsible for making the Trauma Program Manager aware of all noted performance improvement concerns, identified trends, and prioritizes reviews. - Assists with coordination of trauma educational activities including unit and organization based education, standardized trauma courses, and multidisciplinary offerings. - Interacts with staff in a manner that recognizes their developmental needs and promotes their understanding of opportunities, knowledge and reflective practice. Maintains collaborative relationships with surgeons and other professional members of the trauma team and system to affect performance improvement. - Responsible for the coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program to include education of in-house providers, patients and families and community outreach programs. Defining the best methods for addressing and identifying injury prevention needs through the utilization of the Trauma Registry and raising the visibility of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program. - Assists in the Florida Department of Health Trauma Center Site Survey process, including but not limited to review and preparation of all trauma patient charts requested by surveyors, and review and preparation of all performance improvement reports and documentation requested by surveyors.
