The Strategic Sourcing Prof 3 is responsible for the procurement of equipment, supplies and services required by UCDH. Duties include, but are not limited to, purchasing capital equipment (both medical and non-medical), scientific instrumentation, supplies and services. Work assignments typically require development of Request for Quotations/Proposals, competitive bidding and contract award, value analysis, cost analysis, contract negotiations, knowledge of sources of supply with expertise in more than one commodity or market area, and development of vendor partnerships. Responsibilities of the Strategic Sourcing Prof 3 often include administration/coordination of short term projects and/or programs assignments which are often complex in nature. Additionally, the Strategic Sourcing Prof 3 pre-qualifies suppliers, writes bid specifications, holds public bid openings and bidder's conferences, negotiates contract prices, terms and conditions, writes and awards contract/agreements, performs related analytical and highly technical work, and special program/projects duties as required.REQUIRED--Experience negotiating contracts and pricing with vendors. --Experience performing complex data analysis using various tools.--Experience writing specifications for highly technical, often customized high technology equipment, and contractual service agreements. --Experience working with computerized systems and computer generated data. --Experience performing procurement functions using automated purchasing system.--Advanced knowledge of Healthcare Purchasing, and accepted business practices, together with the ability to apply that knowledge.--Thorough knowledge of standard procurement procedures and comprehensive knowledge of equipment/technical/medical/supplies, etc.; equipment and services. --Project management experience to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete projects on time.--Strong analytical skills to define problems, formulate logical solutions, and make recommendations.--Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals at all levels within the organization to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and to foster and promote the goals of the organization.PREFERRED --Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related fields and/or equivalent combination education/experience in Facilities related contracting and negotiations, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management experience in a large diverse strategic procurement environment.--Advanced skill in developing and writing internal practices and instructions.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT - THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
