This Phoenix Report Writer (Clinical Informatics Specialist 4) provides technical leadership and performs a variety of duties relating to the Clinical Information systems applications, initiatives, and projects. Responsibilities include: Assisting with design, development, implementation, and support of reports for the organization; Planning, development, training, implementation, and evaluation of reporting-related application functionality; Working with the team and key customers to ensure appropriate development, training, and implementation of reports and related tools.REQUIRED-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or closely related field and five years of experience working with clinical/financial information systems, OR combination of equivalent years of education and work experience -Experience implementing and supporting Epic's Reporting Workbench, Dashboards, and Clarity/Cogito.-Advanced report writing experience and analytics using Crystal Reports, SQL, Business Objects, and other reporting software.-Experience implementing or supporting an electronic medical record system.-Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operational practices and principles.-Knowledge of operations, systems and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.-Proficient in office automation software (work processing, spreadsheets, visual presentation such as MS Project, Visio, etc.)-Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends.-Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use.PREFERRED-Academic institution or large integrated health systems experience-Knowledge and understanding of University policies and procedures.SPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Must be able to work extended and/or flexible hours as needed to meet committed project dates. -Travel in the Northern California region may be required. Reliable transportation necessary for off-site visits. Mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed per UC Policy.
