Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and the Department of Neonatology are seeking candidates for a junior faculty neonatologist position in an evolving research center focused on neonatal nutrition. This full-time position includes clinical responsibilities in the neonatal intensive care units at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and its affiliated Network, development of a federally-funded independent research program with an emphasis on clinical/translational investigation, teaching responsibilities as required for Harvard Medical School faculty, and training responsibilities in the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Training Program. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is a patient care, teaching, and research affiliate of Harvard Medical School, and currently ranks among the top ten in National Institutes of Health funding among independent hospitals nationwide. The perinatal program includes 5,300 deliveries per year, an active high-risk maternal-fetal medicine service, a 62-bed level III NICU, and a well-established, family-centered care model. An infrastructure to support clinical/translational research offers senior mentorship, research assistants, statistical support, laboratory space, and facilities for sample processing and storage.
The successful candidate should be board certified or fellowship-prepared in neonatology and have completed a graduate degree in clinical investigation, or equivalent quantitatively-oriented advanced degree program. Academic rank at Harvard Medical School and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
