We have an opening for a Full-time Dental Supervisor to work with our Employer Health Clinic located in Greer, SC! Summary: This full-time Dental Supervisor will work with our employer health clinic located in Greer. The schedule is Monday from 8:30am-7:15pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30am-5:15pm, but candidates should be flexible to come in early/stay late as needed to help support the dental team. Previous experience managing teams, ordering office supplies, and payroll is highly preferred. The Dental Supervisor will manager, supervisor and coordinate dental hygienist and dental assistant staff, and will also be responsible for providing direct patient care, using established dental expertise, as needed. Must be a CDA and have experience working with Dentrix and Dexis. Essential Functions: As a Registered Dental Hygienist: Perform routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning, polishing, x-rays, application of sealants and fluorides, and related procedures while meeting the Health Centers minimum productivity requirements per year as set by the Center and Dental Director (prorated per FTE). Provide and manage direct patient care, including intra and extra oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment Perform required clinical procedures following established protocols for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases Maintain equipment and supplies, keep recall lists appropriate to the need of the individual patient, and work with the Registrars to schedule patients according to these needs. Work with the Dental Director to help develop and implement systems to improve patient care and compliance Assess dental condition and needs of patient, use patient screening procedures, to include medical history review, dental charting, and perio charting. Take patient vital signs as required Develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients. Perform patient education, treatment planning, and patient/family teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist Maintain patients’ dental records, documents dental history or chief complaint. Record and report pertinent observations and patient reactions to dental staff, as appropriate. Document lab procedures and ensure follow up on results Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs Assist with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients Supervision responsibilities Collaborate with Site Dental Director to provide leadership to dental assistants Assist in the recruitment and selection of dental assistants, including interviewing candidates and training new team members Assess, manage, and evaluate the performance and development of dental assistants Participate in appropriate client and Premise Health committees as requested Provide direction to ensure environment is clean and safe, that infection control procedures are followed, and patient privacy is upheld Participate in Quality Improvement, Risk Management activities and complete Premise Health occurrence reports as needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited program and licensed in Dental Hygiene or Dental Assisting and in accordance with Dental State Board guidelines Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services Experience: At least one-year experience as Registered Dental Hygienist or Licensed Dental Assistant preferred. 1– 2 years of demonstrated supervisory experience. Previous experience with Dental EMR and digital imaging preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of dental equipment and techniques. Knowledge of the principles of practices and techniques of dental hygiene. Knowledge of current regulations on practices for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases. Strong computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.) preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the dental and management team.
