The Inova Schar Cancer Institute (ISCI) is seeking an outstanding junior to mid-career Medical Oncologist specialized in lung and aerodigestive cancers. The successful candidate will participate in multi-disciplinary thoracic oncology care with a team that includes thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, clinical research, genetic counseling, palliative care, nutritionists, and a national-recognized psycho-social support program called Life with Cancer. The candidate will join a growing group of 24 specialized Medical Oncologists and Hematologists in ISCI's Division of Medical Oncology/Hematology.

The primary site of care for this position will at the brand new, state-of-the-art Inova Schar Cancer Center, a 340,000 square foot facility offering an award-winning architectural and patient experience environment with all aspects of cancer care included under one roof. This includes a 60 chair infusion unit, as well as a radiation oncology department with all available modalities, including the only proton radiation facility in Northern Virginia. The Cancer Center is located across the street from the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, a level 1 trauma, 900-bed hospital that hosts its own residency and fellowship programs (including in hematology/oncology starting in 2021), and also trains around a third of the medical students from the University of Virginia. The Cancer Center, located in Fairfax, VA is less than 10 miles from Washington, D.C. The Inova Schar Cancer Institute includes the main Cancer Center and 10 additional outpatient sites of care, including in hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, and cancer surgery.
