Shift: Days Hours: 7:30AM - 4:00PM (on call once every twelve (12) weeks, Monday through Saturday 8:00AM - 4:30PM)
J OB SUMMARY:
R esponsible for the maintenance, repair and upgrades to the heating ventilation and air conditioning systems and their associated controls. This includes air-handling equipment; exhaust fans, variable-air-volume systems, furnaces, crematories, humidifiers and air filtration equipment. Also included is knowledge and use of the associated control systems for the equipment - both digital and pneumatic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required.
3 years of job related experience in residential or industrial HVAC, plumbing and mechanical trades required.
Valid PA Drivers License required. Must pass a written skills test with a minimum grade of 75% and demonstrate hands on skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Ability to disassemble, repair and/or replace a variety of HVAC equipment including burners, automatic temperature controls, variable air volume systems, thermostats, pneumatic and electronic controls, pilot positioners, dampers, control valves, steam straps, crematories, exhaust fans and air handlers.
Ability to braze, solder, cut, thread and couple various sizes and types of piping materials, fabricate, bend, join and cut sheet metal. Ability to read blueprints, plan and layout work.
A bility to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. Computer skills
Good oral and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2 years Vocational/Technical school training preferred. P revious experience in operating tractors, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred. Universal Refrigeration License and EPA certification preferred. Industrial HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration experience is preferred.
Position is contingent on the successful transition of Holy Spirit to Penn State Health.
