The RN in the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) clinic, Seattle division, coordinates clinical operations as part of a team of nurses for interdisciplinary providers that specialize in diagnosis and treatment of patients with geriatric syndromes including but not limited to cognitive, mood, & behavioral disorders, and functional problems. Operations will include assistance with clinical research, quality improvement and clinical demonstration projects. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Outpatient clinic, including telehealth visits, and patient case management, including triaging consults and answering calls from patients outside of clinic hours. Providing education and support to patients' families and caregivers. Coordination of patient appointments with clinic schedulers. Provision of nursing support for recording both patient histories and vital signs as well as for medication management. Coordination of scheduling for attendings and fellows/residents. Provide orientation for trainees rotating in clinics. Facilitation and implementation of clinical demonstration projects as well as basic data management. Implementation of systems redesign principles (e.g., clinic creation/modification, consult management, etc.). Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Incentives: Not authorized PCS: Not authorized Benefits: Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
