PRIMARY FUNCTION: To serve as a key contributor to the Communications team within the External Affairs Department with a focus on managing internal and external communications projects, including: corporate communications; physician, executive and thought-leadership communications; and marketing communications for health care services and business units. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develops and executes strategic communications plans for ChristianaCare.
- Project management of a wide variety of communications projects, often in close collaboration with marketing, design and digital/social media teams.
- Supports executive communications and thought-leadership, including logistics and presentation development.
- Writes communications plans, press releases, social media posts, speeches, talking points, presentations, internal/corporate communications, e-mails, website copy, briefing sheets, letters and other materials as needed to support a wide variety of communications projects.
- Advises and coaches leaders and spokespersons for interactions with the media and the public, in collaboration with the media relations team.
- Protects and enhances brand reputation through effective issues management and crisis communications, in collaboration with other members of the issues/crisis communications team.
- Participates in media-on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 responsiveness to strategic communications and media relations needs of the organization.
