The Child Life Specialist plans and provides coping plan development for out pt. and hospitalized pediatric patients with acute and chronic illnesses to promote their healthy growth and development, reduce anxiety of hospitalization, and aid focusing on emotional adjustment to outpatient procedures and hospitalization
Position requires CLS to cover vacation and sick days for staff, help with department events and holiday planning. Up to 30 hours a week, no weekend or holiday coverage required. This is a benefitted position.
A Bachelor's degree in a Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Recreational
Therapy, Special Education, or a closely related field and completion of a minimum of 480 hours in a Child Life internship.
