The Senior Manager, Government Relations will represent the interests of AMGA members before Congress and the Executive Branch and develop policy that furthers the interest of AMGA members and the patients they serve. This position will report to the Senior Director, Government Relations.
Duties/Responsibilities
Establishing and maintaining relationships with elected policymakers and executive branch officials at the federal level.
Identifying and analyzing legislative and regulatory activities that impact AMGA members.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with AMGA members, consultants, and trade associations to proactively shape legislative policy impacting medical groups.
Making presentations to AMGA members nationwide on legislative and regulatory affairs.
Drafting policy, reports, summaries, and papers in legislative areas.
Directing AMGA’s Annual Capitol Hill Day Legislative Fly-In Program.
Acting as a liaison to AMGA’s Government Relations Leadership Council.
Supervising administration of AMGA’s Grassroots Network.
Location: Full-time hybrid schedule with AMGA’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA. This job is 100% telework optional.

Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience, including service on Capitol Hill, the Department of Health and Human Services, or a trade association focusing on Medicare, Medicaid, and delivery system and health care reform.
Candidate must be able to work with medical group leaders, elected officials and key Hill staff, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services officials, and other leaders in various trade associations.
Health care experience and knowledge of the legislative and regulatory processes.
Must be able to work well as part of a team. Must be organized, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree required. A graduate degree in health care or law preferred.
This position will be required to attend in-person events in Washington, DC, and throughout the country.
This position requires residency in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
