The University of Utah is seeking to fill a position for an Assistant/Associate Professor, track dependent on qualifications, in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.  This position will work closely with 5 other pediatric physiatrists and collaborators in the Department of Pediatrics, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery and others.  This position will be primarily at the Primary Children’s Miller Campus in Lehi, UT and will be comprised largely of outpatient clinics, procedural opportunities, along with some inpatient consultations and the potential for outreach clinics.  Shared call coverage at the Primary Children’s main campus in Salt Lake City, UT will also be expected. 

Excellent communication skills, the ability to manage complex spasticity, and a broad-base in pediatric rehabilitation are strongly encouraged. Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in pediatric PM&R is strongly preferred. Significant interest in independent research goals and/or education and teaching are looked upon favorably. Salary is competitive and benefits are excellent.

The new Primary Children’s Hospital at The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi, Utah is on target for an early 2024 opening date. This is a second campus to the hospital in Salt Lake City and will be a 5-story, full-service pediatric hospital opening with 66 beds with the ability to expand to 100 beds. It will have a pediatric behavioral health unit, PICU, Surgical NICU, Medical-Surgical unit, and an Observation unit (licensed as inpatient beds for maximum flexibility). Additionally, this campus will have 5 Operating suites, and a Minor Procedure Room, a 19-bay emergency department, a Level-2 pediatric trauma program and a full complement of ancillary services. Attached to the hospital is a 3-story medical office building with over 140 treatment areas for pediatric subspecialists to provide outpatient services including outpatient behavioral health, rehab therapy, infusion services and a variety of pediatric subspecialty clinics.
