The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia is seeking applicants for a full-time Neuroradiology faculty position to provide specialized neuroradiology imaging interpretation of CT, MR, perfusion imaging, and MR spectroscopy as well as perform image-guided procedures for diagnostic purposes, including fluoroscopic-guided lumbar punctures, myelograms, cisternograms and CT and MR cerebral and spinal angiography. The Medical College of Virginia Hospitals has 822 beds, a Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive cancer center, an active transplantation service, and extensive outpatient services at the downtown campus and in the surrounding localities. The section has excellent relationships with Neurology, Neurosurgery, ENT, and Oncology. The entire radiology department has recently been renovated to include modern reading rooms for all sub-specialties.
All locations offer state-of-the-art CT, MR, and radiography equipment. A new, 14-story Adult Outpatient Pavilion opened in December 2021, as well as a new, free-standing children’s hospital that opened in April 2023.

Position Responsibilities:
Teaching – Provide training to medical students, residents, and fellows within the large, highly productive academic radiology department.
Research – Maintain professional relationships and collaboration with specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, ENT and oncology to offer life-saving treatments. Have a developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications.
Service – Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school and departmental committee work, professional growth and other such assignments.
Clinical – Provide high quality, sub-specialized imaging interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring physicians and patients of VCUHS.
Required Qualifications:
ABR certification or documentation of passing the Core Component of the ABR Board examination
Fellowship trained in Neuroradiology
Candidates must demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Candidates must be eligible for a Virginia medical license
Candidates must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA
Preferred Qualifications:
As experts in our field, special interest related to consulting with research investigators and referring providers while also striving for excellence in education, patient care and research is preferred.
