UW Health Northern Illinois (UWHNI), a 350+ bed, twice Magnet accredited hospital formerly known as SwedishAmerican, is located in Rockford, Illinois, approximately ninety miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Throughout UWHNI's 110-year history, it has been a pillar of the Rockford community. As UWHNI continues to evolve and further integrate with UW Health, they seek an accomplished Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Vice President of Patient Services to join their team.
Reporting to the President and CEO of UWHNI, the VP/CNO serves as the market nursing leader for UWHNI and is responsible for leading inpatient and ambulatory nursing, nursing operations support and nursing practice in accordance with the mission, vision and values of UW Health. The VP/CNO is a key member of the leadership team and will collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders in the planning and execution of nursing practice across the hospital and market.
The VP/CNO is also accountable for operational, financial and strategic strategy in relation to nursing operations and will play a pivotal role in optimizing nursing services and contributing to the overall success of UW Health's mission and goals. The VP/CNO will work with the senior leadership team to align clinical services with UW Health's strategic plan with a focus on ensuring the delivery of patient care in a manner that seamlessly integrates with the broader organizational objectives of UW Health.
The ideal candidate will embody qualities of collaboration, and accountability and will be an excellent communicator and adept at leading in a highly matrixed environment. Candidates should possess a minimum of seven years of progressive nursing management and expertise in strategic planning, operations, finance and administration.
