We are seeking a Professional Governance Program Manager to lead and strengthen shared decision-making across Phoenix Children’s nursing organization. This role will build and standardize governance structures, support council and board leadership, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. The Professional Governance Program Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of the professional governance structure across the organization. This role ensures that shared governance functions as a meaningful, outcome-driven decision-making framework aligned with Magnet standards and organizational priorities.
The Professional Governance Program Manager provides enterprise oversight of council infrastructure, charters, bylaws, elections, leader development, and performance measurement.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. (Required)
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field. (Preferred)
Experience
Five (5) years of clinical nursing experience. (Required)
Three (3) years of experience with shared/professional governance or nursing leadership. (Required)
Experience supporting Magnet designation or redesignation. (Preferred)
Experience in a pediatric, academic, or quaternary care environment. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current Arizona RN license or compact license with eligibility for AZ licensure. (Required)
National nursing certification (e.g., NE-BC, CPN, CNML) or obtained within 1 year. (Required)
Special Skills
Expert understanding of shared/professional governance models. (Required)
Ability to evaluate governance effectiveness and outcomes. (Required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms. (Required)
Knowledge of Magnet standards related to Structural Empowerment. (Preferred)
Strong facilitation, coaching, and consultation skills. (Preferred)
Ability to build consensus and influence across levels. (Preferred)
Strong organizational and program management skills. (Preferred)
